Managers to Access Cablefree Hardware

November 1998 - Remote Diagnostics package allows network managers to access CableFree hardware.
To meet the needs of today's demanding networking applications, CableFree has added the option of remote diagnostics to the CableFree 500 and 1000 systems to allow quick 'at-a-glance' status monitoring and out-of-condition monitoring.
Advanced software running under Microsoft Windows '95, '98, NT or 3.11, communicates with embedded diagnostic intelligence within the CableFree unit via a standard RS232 link offering easy on-screen display of operating conditions.
CableFree's diagnostic package monitors key 'signs of life' indicators including system temperature, laser temperature, power supply voltage, received signal level and signal validityto give a performance monitoring capability second-to-none.
A comprehensive data logging facility provided by the software enables long-term and out-of-condition monitoring of link performance, with data output in formats exportable to data analysis packages and spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel (R).
