10 + 2 Solution Combines Telephony and Data for Complete Wireless Office-to-Office Connectivity

Adding a new dimension to CableFree's wireless product range, the 10+2 solution adds advanced multiplexer technonlogy to the standard CableFree link to connect both 10Mbps Ethernet and 2Mbps G.703 telephony for office-to-office connectivity.

Previously available solutions required separate communication links for voice and data, or data embedded along with voice within a 2Mbps channel, with associated cost and performance penalties.
10+2 adds an internal high-speed time-slot multiplexer to standard CableFree technology to create genuinely independent channels for the two data streams, avoiding bridging and routing functions and therefore simplifying network design. Typical connections are switch-to-switch for networks and PABX-to-PABX for the full 30 channels of voice/telephony.

Fully upgradable for existing CableFree links, 10+2 allows voice capability to be added to existing 10Mbps links by a simple on-site upgrade. Also available in early 1999, CableFree's 100+2 solution will combine 100Mbps Fast Ethernet or FDDI with 2Mbps telephony for high-speed data connection. A further range of external multiplexers will combine arbitrary combinations of telephony, data networking, video, audio and telemetry for demanding high-performance applications.
