Wireless Gigabit Ethernet - CableFree Solutions achieves Worldwide First-To-Market deployment of a commercial product.

Cablefree Solutions Limited has just successfully completed the world's first commercial deployment of Wireless Gigabit Ethernet technology. Previewed at Networks Telecom '99, the new Cablefree Gigabit system is now installed as major part of a new Wireless Metropolitan Area Network in central London.

Developed from the well-established and reliable Cablefree 622 Mbps technology, CableFree Wireless Gigabit offers all the advantages of an wireless optical link, but at 1250Mbps full duplex offers users ten times the bandwidth of Fast Ethernet.

Faster processors, more complex applications, and overall increases in network traffic have all driven demand for ever higher bandwidth. CableFree Wireless Gigabit allows cost-effective, license-free connection of Gigabit Ethernet backbone networks without bandwidth restriction or bottleneck.

Joining the established family of Cablefree products offering voice, data and video from 2 to 622Mbps, Wireless Gigabit also supports Gigabit Fibre Channel for wireless connection of Storage Area Networks.
